VLC has a mind of its own

So I've been making some guitar recordings using Audacity and the USB connection from my amp. Nothing too strange. However when I save them (using .wav though idk if that matters) it appears to be trying to auto-create the cover image for the audio file. Like for example I had one that I named "life is a highway", because that was the song I was playing, and it automagically put the actual cover for the real song as a tiny little image in the center of the screen whilst the audio is playing. And it's done this for a bunch of songs. Which would be fine except that it gets.... weird sometimes. For example I have a file named simply "thing.wav", and this is the image it decided to use:

None of these images are otherwise saved on the PC in any way, at least that I'm aware of...

And some files don't have any image at all. I'm so confused. Does anyone know how to turn this off or... something?
