Hi. My friend wants a new set of headphones, I recommended the DT 770s. He's using it for mobile use so would getting the 32 ohm version be best? Or is it better to get the 80ohms and a Fiio E10K? Or would the E10K work better with the 32Ohms? TIA

i have the bd 770 pro 80ohms currently on my head,
using it on an android phone will reduce the db level by 20~%
but i dont recommend these headphones for mobile use , this is a studio headset, the cable is 2 meters long, its an close back design, and its big !

Nope 32, 80 and 250

I would get the 32ohms so it's not that hard to drive.

Wait.. why do you need an amp for these headphones? Generally using these headphones in "mobile" conditions (on the go) are less than ideal to take advantage of a higher quality DAC, and even the 250 ohm version gets uncomfortably loud on mobile devices. I was able to drown out the sound of the engines last month when I was on an air plane and I was sitting next to the wings.

nice but i got the 80 ohm version because my DJM 600 could not drive more than than 80ohms at an respectable db level.
if i would had gone for the 250ohm variant the master hp's would sound louder than the headset headset, and i could not adjust my jog wheels i would had distortion because of the gain knob beeing at near max of the headphone output eq

If by mobile you mean a cellphone, the E10k wouldn't make sense. If yoy mean portable by laptop, get the Shiit Fulla 2 instead. I have that dac/amp and the quality is nicer than my old E10K.

Can you use a Fulla 2 with a Phone? Also how heavy is it, as my friend says that he wants to be able to move around freely with it on.

Those are for desktops and laptops. For a phone, there are dedicated amps, but those aren't needed of you get a low ohm set.

Apple do tend to have good audio, at leats in my experience. Would you say that going for the 16Ohm ones will do the trick, with a Nexus 5X?

My opinion is the opposite. Mobiles devices all generally have crappy DACs and amplifiers. I think you're focusing too much on the impedance and not taking into account the sensitivity. The general advice around these parts are try before you continue buying. There is no end to spending money on better, bigger, louder, cleaner audio equipment. Get the headphones first, try them out, and then decide if you need more amplification. There are some notoriously hard to drive head phones, but the Beyerdynamic 770, 880, and 990 series are not one of them unless you're reaching for the 600 ohm models. And even then it's questionable.
