new build Ryzen 7 1700, ram suggestion?

hi everyone, i wanna build a Ryzen 7 1700 PC now. i think i go with ASRock X370 Gaming K4 Motherboard, any suggestion what RAM should i buy? is it good if i use Gskill Flare X 2x8GB RAM, as its the fastest ram now for AM4 (can the motherboard run 3466 mhz ram frequency?). or i just pick Gskill TridentZ RGB for cheaper and extra blink2 ?

First off, buy a B350 motherboard. Not only is the X370 chipset not much better, it's actually been worse on RAM than B350.

 

Secondly, FlareX is the fastest RAM that will run on Ryzen, but it's really expensive. The G.Skill TridentZ 16GB 3000 CAS 15 kit will still work and there's not a huge difference between 3000 and 3466. https://pcpartpicker.com/product/ZskwrH/gskill-memory-f43000c15d16gtzb

as low as possible, price to peformance is my main focus. i wanna move from am3 to am4.

what motherboard should i buy if i want to pick flare x or tridentz rgb ? i think the price different is only $37.5 in my country

I would do the Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming or the Asus PRIME B350-PLUS or the MSI B350 Gaming Plus. Don't blame me for their unoriginal names.

you will, team dark is not on qvl list so won't gurantee to oc to 3000mhz, there's 2-4% difference

Sure you can get the B350 Gaming Pro Carbon.

 

X370 motherboards have been worse at being able to run RAM at its rated speed, which is why I recommend B350s instead. Not to mention you only lose SLI as a key feature. You can still Crossfire

Get the MSI becuase it has both Gaming and Plus in its name .

By the way, is the B350 unlocked ? I think I was told the other day that you can't overclock a CPU in one of those.
