Oven Method- Fix?

i have a MSI r9 380 that wont post, i was wondering if the oven method (described on linus's video) will work, do i need to cover any particular parts. e.e. Plastic?

You might make it work for a while with the 'oven method', but it's not a fix.

 

If you still want to do it: take off the entire cooler. That is really the main plastic parts. Plus use an oven you wont use for food afterwards

This will not fix it. It will probably make it work for another 6 weeks but after that it will be K. O. Only do this if there is no other way to fix it.

Only a temporary fix, going to break again in a few weeks. Not good to use an oven you want to cook food with again also.

Take this as a last resort to make the card work for a short period of time when you find a good deal. Also, lock your cooler to run at high fan speeds might help it last longer. If baking method works means some connection points were melted over time, so you need more cooling to keep them solid.

You need to identify the problem, then apply an appropriate fix. Sticking it in the oven and praying is wishy washy magic belief.
