Replaced RAM

My friend replaced the RAM in their PC. The computer wouldn't stay turned on, even after putting the old RAM back in, the PC still wouldn't stay turned on. Anyone know what could be wrong?

putting the new RAM in might have applied a new XMP profile which does not work with your first set of RAM. do a CMOS reset and use the original RAM that worked, should fix it.

 

Just incase, CMOS reset is either a button labelled as such, or a small jumper that you have to move across, power cycle the machine, and then move it back.
