What you need to do is mitigate the transfer of vibrations from the HDD to the case. You can use rubber grommets to mount it, which is one way. You can suspend it in elastic, like I did with the pantyhose, which is another way.
The more rigidly secured it is to the case, the more it'll vibrate. That's why we're recommending either rubber grommets or elastic suspension.
