I wanna buy a new GPU and i'm still doubting between two gpu's basically.

The MSI R7970 Lightning Boost Edition

http://us.hardware.info/productinfo/169562/msi-r7970-lightning-boost-edition#tab:overview

For 270 euro's.

Or

The MSI Radeon R9 280X Gaming 3GB

http://us.hardware.info/productinfo/199968/msi-radeon-r9-280x-gaming-3gb#tab:prices

Also for 270 euro's

Which one would you buy?

Also if you have other suggestions i'd gladly take them into considderation.

Looking for a 300$/€ card. Don't really mind AMD or Nvidia.

Looking for a good price/performance ratio.

Thanks!

between the two i'd go with te R9 280X,because is newer and has more features. Personally for around 300$ i would pick the gtx 770 http://us.hardware.info/productinfo/186643/nvidia-geforce-gtx-770

The lightning for sure. It's basically the same card, there are even reports about successful BIOS flashes from 7970 to 280X. The gaming is good for overclocking, the lightning is even better, so get the lightning.

Edit: You should look with which card you get more free games. That might also help deciding.

who cares...

Would wait for 800 series. I think nVidia is planning something huge...

280x has no new feature ....

also you can flash a 7970 to 280x without problems.

I would go with lightning

also if it's to consider 770 go to 290 non-x

The R9 290 is one of the few gpus worth considering if you want something new. Nvidia is annoying me as of late with their GTX 780 Ti publicity stunt and both brands have a high rebadge to new product ratio.

The 7970 comes with 3 free games while the 280X only comes with BF4.

That might take a while, even more because they haven't announced anything about 800 series yet.
