Ryzen 5 Performance in Single Thread Titles

I've seen limited benchmarks showing the i5 7600k beat the Ryzen 5 1600 in single threaded titles like Arma 3, but I am still indecisive on whether to go team blue for better performance for gaming or team red for all-around power.

It makes no sense to get i5 now.

The R5 1600 has good enough single core performance.

 

Yes, i5 7600k can push higher FPS most of the time but when it dips it does also way lower than the R5.

You get more consistent frame time with the R5 which will provide you with more smooth gameplay.

R5 should still be good for that, frame times are more consistent with R5 anyway (Which is probably more important that the slight gain in average frames in some games).
