I had a build in mind to build a ryzen 5 rig with a MSI tomahawk... I thought they were great until I heard here on the forums that they are not?

Why are they so bad?

  • CPU = i7 5930k
  • Cooler = Corsair H100i
  • RAM = Dominator Platinum 32GB DDR4-2666
  • Storage = Samsung 850 Pro 1TB
  • GPU = EVGA GTX 1080ti FTW3
  • PSU = Corsair 750D
  • PSU = Corsair 1000W
  • Monitor = Asus PG278Q

Lower quality as stated above and they were having BIOS issues with AM4 causing reallyyyyy long POST times (I don't know if they resolved this though). To be safe just get an AsRock or ASUS Prime for almost the same cost.

dont read forums

read product reviews on amazon and newegg

This is pretty bad advice... A shocking amount of consumers know f**k all... They either plug it in and it works or it doesn't. They often leave bad reviews on say a motherboard when the issue is obviously not the motherboard.

A tech forum > Average amazon review.

Or better yet, read a proper professional review from someone reputable

Don't, get a Gigabyte, Asus, or Asrock.

Why? I am not regretting for an Asus P5G41TM-LX. But I'll give MSI a shot

MSI went cheap on the components. Why would you buy a cheap motherboard priced like a high end model?

If anyone asks you never saw me.

No where does that address the components used, just an excited new builder. You get more motherboard for the money elsewhere. If you want to over spend to get a logo, have at it.

I don't mind for long Post times, but after I think it was risky. So yeah I hope this has long endurance

What? I don't have money for that yet. However, I'll just leave you (nah just kidding, comeback whenever you mention me) fanboys (not really) with a LGA 775 and GTX 970. Bye!
