Unpopular opinion but I really don't SSDs are all that great man. Get a single SSD for boot and some of your games then use the money on getting an i7 or something. I'm from New Zealand also so I know how it is.

I'm also sure you could find cheaper ram than that as well as maybe getting rid of that corsair case cause it's expensive as all hell for what it is and maybe change up the psu. If you switched to an i7 you would save on power so you could save a bit of cash.

This is your dream build though so idk your choice I'm a budgeting guy but I like to make stuff look pretty too.

Someone find me a black 1155 board in New Zealand for sub 140 please.

An 8350 in a 3700 NZD ( = 3100 USD) build :D

conversion rates dont work like that. if you actually saw prices over here you would understand. and what do you mean "an 8350" cheaper then a 4670k/4770k/4960x? gives pretty much the same performance as a 4770k as well for about 200 dollars less

Worst way to spend. Where is intel extreme? where is 780 ti??

yeah im going to drop 1200 on a 780 ti and 1500 on i7 4960x..?

Dat technology and only one 23" monitor? That is just plain dumb

"dat technology" i dont quite understand? for what actually gets used to display to a monitor, ie r9 290/ud3/8350 its actually pretty average

reason for ssds is because id be using this computer for everything, i.e, gaming, animation software etc also the same reason for 16gb of ram

2 ssds for raid 0, 1 ssd for what id be working on.. hard drives are there because i use quite a bit of space with movies/music/photos, currently have over 1tb of stuff and im only using a laptop - over using external hard drives..

this computer will also be used as a media/storage device later on when components become obsolete, yeah the case is expensive, i like it though, i mean its 300 dollars more then the 650D/750D but it has more space for hard drives, water cooling, components in general

Get rid of 3 of the drives and that ridiculously overpriced keyboard and mouse and ditch 8 GB of ram and put the money towards a 2nd video card.

whats wrong with the k/b and mouse? dont have any keyboard or mouse atm so why not get something to last.

if i got 16gb of ram with all that other stuff, wouldnt you assume that i would be doing some form of editing?

when i do a custom loop i would probably pick up another gpu anyway because watercooling one gpu doesnt look that great

So i recommend to get 4930k everything above that CPU is waste. end spend rest of the money one one more 780 TI

Get a mobo like rampage iv formula/extreme. and have a red themed build. it looks best:D and a 750D case

nah ... it might live up to the performance of the 4670k in some scenario and beats it in even less.

Anyway ... why buy a huge cas 900d whit lots of wc capability and then don't watercool at all?

Your components would be lost in this huge case.

If you would step down your case and your a psu a bit, you could easily put a LGA2011 platform in your build.

still a 850 dollar cpu and a 1200 dollar graphics card, by $2000. if your read the reason for 900D you might understand.. going for black/gold theme water cooled theme already

i put a in 8350, i included a r9 290 (reference), why would i do this if i didnt overclock? i also didnt include a cpu cooler, isnt that suspicious? also, it does beat the 4670k and 4770k, and when it doesnt beat the 4770k it gives it a hell of a run for its money, same with the 4930k, do you even watch or read?

no reason for 2011 either, i mean i could but not worth it, most people go for 2011 because they do video editing/rendering professionally/for there job and need the ram slots and extra pcie lanes

so you are using the

CPU Cooler:  Cooler Master Hyper 212X 82.9 CFM CPU Cooler  ($65.00 @ PC Force)
for the chipset?

And no it doesn't, and it has been proven 1000x times by various sites.

oops, its not meant to be on there at all :S

and have you not watched any of teksyndicates videos? he continues to go on about how the 8350 is just as good if not better then his 2011 chip.

This build is really just unbalanced

a+Unbalanced.jpg

i dont quite understand how its "unbalanced" for gaming/photo/video editing etc, 16gb of ram. yeah it could be cheaper ram but i liked the look of this ram. 3 ssds and 2 hdd, whats wrong with that? i like things fast? raid 0 for 2 and no raid for the other. the hdds will stay as they are.

8350 pairs perfectly with the performance of the r9 290.

the only thing that is over the top is the case. i got it because of water cooling and because of the about of hdd bays it has. as i mentioned before this computer will be used as a storage device.

how is it unbalanced at all?

instead of saying - this is wrong this is wrong this is wrong, why dont you actually ask how its going to be used? i can give a justifiable statement to why each thing is picked and how it is or will be used
