What is the best gpu to slot in this build ?

XenosTech

So after watching linus's vid on the best itx cases, I decided that I would use one of those for my gf's pc instead. Reason beaing, she's not tech savy and I want her to be able to clean this without me having to go over there to make sure she doesn't break stuff. Now I don't know what gpu to slot in this build all she plays is LoL (I've tried to get her to play other games but she doesn't like them) so what would be the better card for this build since the 460 might be a bit over kill or not. Just need some ideas for other viable gpus.

Honestly I would personally go with something that has 6-8GB of VRAM 2GB is very little. Even though they cost a little more I personally would get an RX580 or GTX 1060 at that price point. The RX460 with 2GB of VRAM I don't think makes much sense to me personally.

If you are willing to go used, you could pick up a use 970 or 960 to get more performance. If you want a new card, a 470 would give her more room for better frames if she ever DID try other stuff or she gets a higher resolution monitor. 460 is a good choice however for a low budget upgrade.

Anything above a 1050 or a 460 is wasted performance for league of legends

I was considering giving her my 470 before I sold it, other wise she would of had that but I mean it's just league so nothing fancy is really needed and I've tried for a whole year letting her play games I own bought games she found interesting and after about 1 hour or so she's bored of it xD

While you might be right you should always IMO go for something that will allow you to do more. IE say she wants to maybe try some newer more graphically intensive games a 460 is not going to be good enough wit 2GB of VRAM.

Not going to invest in a better gpu if she isn't going to use it... If she does start to get into other games then she can have my 1070, otherwise I'm not going to invest money into it.

your kidding right? He said all his girlfriend plays is LoL that game is not demanding at all and will run on a 20 dollar office pc from 2008 with 30 fps on medium i would know i play it all the time. An RX 460 is run for this and is def up to the task

if all she does is Play LoL then a RX 460 is fine and if she decides she wants to play something more intensive you can upgrade that later down the line but just a quick thing, i would go with a micro ATX cube case its cheaper and motherboards can be alot cheaper and you also might want to look into Ryzen R5 for the CPU instead of the locked i5 price is a little bit high

Oh I don't have to buy a cpu... I was upgrading my i5 to an i7 so might as well give it to her, I just threw that in there to see if the stock cooler would fit in that case.

The 460 is the best choice if she's only going to be playing LoL.  It'll be good enough for DOTA, Overwatch and any other popular eSports games.  That being said, if you see a potential for her getting into some triple-A titles that are graphically demanding, the 480/580 would be a better choice.

If she starts to actually play Triple-A's I'll give her my 1070 and get me a 1080 or vega if out by then or what ever card is out then (might be a few years before I see her playing Triple A games though)
