Asus X99-A/USB3.1 MB and Core i7 6800k

Hi,

Helping a friend build a rig for his Video and Photo business.

He's mainly using the PC for Editing, no gaming at all.

We have a budget of $1500 CAD excluding the peripherals.

I found this on our local trade website

http://www.kijiji.ca/v-computer-components/winnipeg/asus-x99-a-usb3-1-mb-core-i7-6800k-6-cores-cpu/1262514620?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true

We tried negotiating and we can get it for $700 CAD combo, is this a good price?

Yeah, it is a very high OC'ing chip as well.  I'd probably get a 1700 + B350 mobo instead though

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

@Damascus

Not yet, basically we need a whole rig done for him $1500CAD but can be flexible as long as it can be a little future-proof budget. any recommendations?

Not that SSD though, as it is pretty rubbish for an NVMe.

@Damascus

Can you help me create a build with the AMD 1700 CPU close to the $1500 budget?

Yeah, It will need to make some compromises though.  Crummy case and slightly worse ssd but its basically no lost performance
