ah 10 years of console life again damn to long really although one thing I am looking forward to this time are how easy its going to be to emulate each console hopefully we get some decent emulators coming within 6 months

Hate to break it to you, but that's not true.

 

There is a colossal difference between porting and emulating games. A lot of people have been shouting for a while now about how much easier the next-gen consoles will be to emulate as a result of sharing the x86 architecture with PC and having much more similar hardware to a PC. However, the sad truth is that's irrelevant - it doesn't necessarily make it any easier to emulate them whatsoever.

 

To put this into perspective, one of the most difficult consoles of all time to emulate so far is the original Xbox. It's never had a successful emulator released and all apparent attempts to emulate it have failed. Yet the device was essentially a miniaturised PC - it used an x86 CPU, a normal 3.5" HDD, a normal DVD drive and even a normal IDE connector for the HDD and DVD drive.

To what he gonna compare it? PC from 2007 or a 300$ PC? Its like wanting to compare a Fiat Panda to a Bentley Continental.
