Im selling my old build with some upgrades for gaming

Windows 10 PRO 64-bit
C2D E7500 2.93 Ghz
Deepcool Gamma Archer Heatsink
Intel DG31PR mobo
4 DDr2 RAM
Corsair VS450 PSU
1600x900 monitor

GPU upgrades EVGA gtx 1050 or 1050 ti .
Should run games with high settings at 900p

I am aware that there will be bottlenecks and mobo supports only legacy bios.

Please suggest changes to this build in gaming  department. (Overclocking capabilities if possbile )

P.S: can get 750 Ti and 1050 at same price.

Go for the 1050(TI) if you can and play at 1080p.  The higher the resolution, the less workload you'll place on your CPU.

1050. if you are selling it dont spend more then you need.

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

drop a Q6600 or Q9650 and you can pair it with a GTX 1050Ti

ebay have tons of Q6600 and the Q9650

Budget? Uses? Currency? Location? Operating System? Peripherals? Monitor? Use PCPartPicker wherever possible.

My friend familiar with PC building sent me this which worries me though

" Anyway, first problem is your old mobo uses legacy bios and the latest NVidia cards requires UEFI, so the 1050 is a no go. Even if it did work, it's really overkill for that CPU and you'd be lucky to even use a quarter of it's performance in a gaming situation....it's possible some benchmarks could use it all, but that's not a real life gaming situation. If I had to suggest a gpu that matches that CPU, it would be a GT 730 or R7 250....both are weak, but that's about all an E7500 could realistically handle "

He's basically right. That CPU would get it's butt kicked in modern games....

I misspelled butt. I'm an idiot.

Just make sure your mobo supported it.

And then pair it up with 1050ti or Rx 570..but i think it would bottleneck the 570 not sure though but even if it does i think it wont be massive.

Though the best upgrade is too build a whole new pc if u got the budget, $400 for the mobo+cpu+ram and another for the gpu.

I already own i7 7700k+1070.

My grandma who used this pc died so selling it with upgrades.

It says yes it supports that CPU

latest nvidia cards require UEFI ??? is that true ? if so, then they should really put that on the product descriptions. i never read anything about it.

a GT730 is never a good option if you have to pay full retail price - maybe not even at half of that ... they are far too weak for what they cost.

if a 1050 really does not work on legacy mobos and you can get a GTX 750 ti for a bit less than a 1050 i'd go for that.

i have a q6600 with a 750 ti 2gb and they get along nicely

I can also get this motherboard ONLY if worth

My current mobo DOES support Q9550.

I can gtx 750 ti/1050 at same price .

if you are not using it yourself and only intend to sell it, you really should not invest much money at all.

the upgrades probably do not add much resell value to average buyers and you never know if the buyer is even interested in them.

let's assume someone is looking for a cheap-as-possible webbrowsing machine for his/her own grandma knowing she will never play any games beyond solitaire.  that person will not see a reason to drop more money for your pc because you put a 1050 in there. so he will either try to lowball you (most of that hardware is over 10 years old, yadda yadda) or simply buy a cheaper machine from someone else.
