Get Ubuntu 16.04 while it still has the unity interface (touch optimized), install it, hook up the pi to a touchscreen, and use it as a multimedia center. Or use it as a controller for RGB strips along the underbody, and find some way to sync them to the music.

You could install them, but only use them when you're on private property. Pair it with a sweet sound system and you've got a mobile party.

you need to be careful with that, some places are really strict law wise on any sort of devices that the driver can operate whilst moving

Mount it to the back of a chair and bring a Xbox controller and play minecraft. But a Multimedia center would be the most useful

I never got around to it, but making your own dash cam, or rear view display.

I just don't want it to look janky.

Agreed, I run Kodi on my Pi 3b, so cant say how the 2 does, but it runs buttery smooth on mine.

Fanboys are the worst thing to happen to the tech community World. Chief among them are Apple fanboys.

a rear veiw display is a good idea, an idea i got today was just use an old smartphone as a dash cam, it has everything you need camera battery and memory, just download an app and your good to go,

anyone got a rough idea on how to have the raspberry pi play audio from my phone through bluetooth, ive done it before over ssh but it only plays what the raspberry pi has locally. i would like somthing along the lines of the pi would emmit a bt signal and a phone connect and just to play songs, so the phone is input and the pi is output, ( i can use aux cable to connect to radio)

That seems like lag waiting to happen... too many steps from mp3 to speakers...

Does your car's LCD display have an analog or digital in? Install PirateBox and follow the tutorial to host media on a USB flash drive. You can play your media in the car with it. If you add a wireless module, you can also broadcast that media to mobile devices. Makes for a great commute when you're stuck in traffic.

I don't have a display in my car so I broadcast to my phone. I've gone through several permutations of this tool and have settled on a Pi Zero W with official case, a 200GB SD card and a 13KmAh battery that I just leave in my bag, then I stream the media to my phone. Not as powerful as the Pi 2 but the portability is undeniable.
