Weird pink dots in some games (with video)

Hello!

My mother has a small bug in two games: Subsistence and The Long Dark. There are some pink dots flashing and the video for it can be found here:

It can not be the monitor, since she can record it. They only appear when it is rather dark in the game... I have literally no idea what this problem is caused by.

Her setup:

- AMD FX-3600 (6 cores at 3.5Ghz)

- 8GB of Corsair Vengeance DDR3 RAM

- MSI GeForce GTX 960 (4GB version)

- Windows 10 Home 64bit

It's not appearing in any other game. Previously it was my card and it worked flawlessly in my rig.

Any suggestions?

Thank you very much in advance!

Nope, it's all at stock speeds including CPU and the ram.

what color settings do you use

I don't know what you mean, but basically everything is standard.

Seems like a driver issue or possible hardware failure to me. Though it could also be a missing texture on some kind of particle effect. It's a little hard to tell. First things first, update your graphics card drivers ad reinstall the games.

I would also post in the relevant steam groups for those games or their subreddits and see if anyone else has the same issue.

If everything is default then i would do what @ampix0 says remove than reinstall the geforce drivers.

Yeah, I'm gonna go ahead and do that now, I'll be back with some results in a couple of minutes.
