best monitor for playing AAA games on 1070

I have recently purchased a 1070 but I'm using on a really old monitor and its time for an upgrade. The problem is i can't decide if i should go with 144hz 1080p or 60hz 1440p.

depends on what you want, for some people refresh rate is very important for some others it isnt. i have a very similar setup with a 1070 and chose for 1440p 60hz because i dont play much fast paced games and like the detail it gives.

Depends are the games you play more competitive fps or games more like GTA V?

unless you play CS:GO enough that the extra refresh rate would give you a real advantage, I'd advise you to get a 1440p or 1080p ultrawide.

either 1440p IPS or 1440p/1080p ultrawide. 3440x1440 may be a little tough to drive for a 1070 unless you reduce settings, but if you're ok with that should be fine
