1600

more cores :)

has a future (1151 is almost at its end of lifespan)

Ryzen 5 3600 stock | 2x16GB C13 3200MHz (AFR) | GTX 760 (Sold the VII)| ASUS Prime X570-P | 6TB WD Gold (128MB Cache, 2017)

Samsung 850 EVO 240 GB

138 is a good number.

The i5 will outperform the Ryzen by a little bit in gaming but the Ryzen is much better overall so I'd say the 1600x.

The 1600 will have better minimums, so I wouldn't even call the i5 a win in gaming.

7600k and 6600k are nearly identical in performance. Kaby Lake has some other features that are nice like full VP9 codec support which really is only really noticeable for 4k/8k video.

i5 6600k @ 4.4ghz on Hyper 212 Evo

Powercolor RX 480 8Gb Red Devil @1330Mhz

Bottom line:  Don't be a spaz or an 800lb gorilla when installing your expensive CPU, and you won't have any problems. --Phate.exe

Thanks :)

i'll throw my 2 cents in but its been said already.

The 1600(Non X) is the best option in the R5 lineup and beats the i5. This saves you over $50 when you consider the wraith spire stock cooler is decent even for mild overclocks. Excluding the 1500X never buy a ryzen X model as they are just factory overclocks (that you can do yourself, 1700 @ 4GHz here) that don't come with a stock cooler (making them worse value).
