I want to build a new pc and i am playing around with different builds these days,i created this build and i was wondering if it was overkill for 1080p only max settings(maybe in the future 1440p)

msi z270 gaming m7

msi gtx 1060 gaming edition x 6gb

i5 7600k

g.skill trident z 2x8 3200mhz

western digital 1tb black

be quite dark power pro 11 650w

samsung evo 960 250 gb m2 ssd

With that 1060 you can go easily on ultra on 1080p but I am not sure it will handle 1440p on high settings very well.

I would get the z170 motherboard or if not overclocking even the h170 if you want to save more. There aren't any features on the Z series or the #270 you need for a 1080 gaming system.
