Plan 2 the R5 is much much better value than a i5 for price/performance, future proofing, new platform and those extra cores and threads will allow you to do other things such as streaming, running background programs.

EDIT: Though i must question a 1080Ti build on a 75Hz 1080p monitor. The 1600 comes with a decent stock cooler capable of a mild overclock so drop that liquid cooler and upgrade that monitor to at least 1440p otherwise your 1080Ti is heavily under utilised.

get rid of the corsair LPX and get yourself some G.Skill Trident Z 3200, which works fine on Ryzen - LPX only hits 2933

Not on every motherboard although hopefully the next microcode update will let all kits 3200 and above run at rated speeds.

My corsair LPX is running at 2997 :P using its XMP timings

Never said it was faster for gaming, but it's balanced, fast, and in everything but gaming makes the i5 look like primitive shite.

Also, Salazar is a whiny, regressive cunt. Hence why I don't watch his channel and keep uBlock on.

idk

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

i was pointing out the fact that he wont even suggust an i5 when in question vs an r5. Not to mention, he validates his claims with other people's benchmarks. If you don't like him, you can go bitch somewhere else, cause I enjoy watching his videos. If you don't like them, don't fucking watch it.
