Is 2666mhz fast enough for ryzen 5 1600?

Hey ltt community,

I am looking into buying a ryzen 5 1600 and I am wondering if 2666mhz ram is fast enough.

Should be fine.

you would get more performance if you went with 2933 or 3200, but the real gains come from stepping it up from 2133/2400 to something higher.

Plus, you can always overclock to 2933 and then you would be getting nearly all of the RAM performance gain.

2666 is bare minimum for me. Besides, you can OC it further.

Long story short, ryzen's core clumps communicate faster with the faster ram you have. Faster ram has shown better results with ryzen.

For gaming, it doesn't matter if your GPU is the bottleneck.

most reviewers on the web seem to agree for Ryzen processors, 2666MHz DDR4 (if achieveable on your motherboard) is the "sweet spot" for value or price/performance ratio driven builds. If you're unlucky, your mobo wont let your 3200MHz kit above 2400.. REGARDLESS of changing very bloody voltage option and trying beta BIOS' to get the OVL listed RAM kit running at rated speeds.. anyway, despite my continued salty attitude on my experience, 2666 is fine lol.

New amd code releasing in a week and bios updates at the end of the month for Hynix ram oc support just wait and do you reasearch instead of spreading negativity
