Will this rig last me 3 or more years.

A 580 already can't really handle 1440p comfortably. It's a 1080p card that's designed for high-ultra.

its a really balanced pc, i think it will last you a while and it still leaves room for upgrades

if you turn down game settings im sure you can run games at 60fps on 1440p

you can game in 1440p, but it's not ultra smooth framerates at high settings. If you turn down settings, you are able to game at 1440p no problemo

The Fury X also has VRAM issues at higher resolutions. But HBM isn't directly comparable to GDDR5.

I have a 1060 at 1440p (basically same performance). I definitely have to tinker with settings, but most of the time those settings are some random thing that I can't see that takes away 20 FPS. I can see it becoming a problem in 3 years. But, for me at least, I play older games and don't really play AAA titles. It's worth going for a 1070 if you can afford it

That's an F in the profile pic

But with just s 8Gb of  system memory? might fall short..

Also would have at least 200gb of SSD storage.

I would go for the B350 Fatal1ty for that price.

That is what i would do. A good 1080p Freesync monitor + the 580. If you need more fidelity, try running VSR or DSR (forget which is AMDs version), to supersample the hardware rendering to 1440p... its not the best of solutions, but i use it with my old 1080p TV.
