I'm thinking of grabbing a 2010 MacBook as where I live they are pretty cheap. Pairing that with a new Ram kit (8gb) and a new ssd. Would only be using it for movies YouTube and web surfing. Would this be alright with 8gb ram and a new ssd? Only light work on the mac. Also would run Xcode on the mac too so nothing to strenuous.

hey my T61 with 2 GB DDR2 and a T7300 is literally amazing on win7 and an SSD. win 10 is good too but some drivers are a bit finicky.

i'm pretty sure that if i'd give you my J1900 build (google that one ;)) you wouldnt know a difference between it and an actually acceptable computer, until you'd try to run anything that requires some cpu horses.

I would use my PC for anything that requires CPU horses

I'm using a 2012 non retina one.

If you can, get this one.

With 8GB of ram and SSD in it, it flies through everyday tasks like youtube and web surfing.

I can even do some programming on it while 20 tabs open in the background on chrome.

If it is not broken, let's fix till it is.
