Hi, i own an Asus K46cm and its 4gb RAM slow my laptop down a lot. So I was wondering if upgrading it with a SSD and more RAM is worth it.

For SSD i chose a 120 gb Kingston SSDNow UV400

https://www.amazon.de/Kingston-SSDNow-UV400-solid-Stand-alone/dp/B01FJ4UN76/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1493448252&sr=8-2&keywords=Kingston+SSDNow+UV400

For RAM  Crucial 4GB DDR3L-1600 SODIMM

https://www.amazon.de/Crucial-Arbeitsspeicher-PC3L-12800-SODIMM-204-Pin/dp/B005LDLV6S/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1493447866&sr=1-1&keywords=crucial+4gb+ddr3l+sodimm

So my question to you guys is wether its worth the upgrade or not. If yes are those parts compatible with my laptop?

I am using windows 10 64 bit if that matters

To say whether to upgrade or not I'd need more information like how much you rely on your laptop, what do you use it for, could you look at getting a new laptop and what you want to speed up. On a quick the ssd will be fine though you will be replacing the hdd so space will be rather small after installing windows and games. The RAM should be fine but laptops can be rather picky.

CPU: Intel i7-4790K @ stock for now --- RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16Gb --- MOBO: Asus Maximus VII Formula --- GPU: MSI Gaming GTX 980ti --- PSU: Corsair AX860i  ---  Storage: Samsung 850 250gb(OS), 3x Western Digital Blue 3tb (one for game and programs, two for media), 3tb WD Green(somewhat backup) and a Crucial M550 120gb SSD (caching games and programs drive)  --- Case: Fractal Define R5 --- Cooler: Corsair H100i with Noctua 2000rpm, Industrial Fans --- OS: Windows 10 --- Monitor: Asus PB298q + AOC l2260SWD --- Mouse: Logitech G502 Spectrum --- Keyboard: Corsair K70 (Cherry MX Red) Red LED's --- Audio: Audio Engine A2's (yes the originals), Sennheiser HD 58x Jubilee Audio-Technica ATH-AD900x, Audio-Technica ATH-M50x, Ant Lion Mod Mic V4 --- Laptop: Dell XPS 9750

I dont want to buy a new laptop, I mainly use this one for college. My profession includes lots of programming and right now im strongly dependent on it. I have a free 2.5 inch slot on this laptop  :D

performance wise in games no, in daily task yes.

I dont know why but my HDD seem to be working a lot even when im not doing anything. The light indicator on my Laptop shows that and the HDD spinning is audible :/

According to task manager my RAM usage is pretty high when browsing with firefox. I really notice a slow down when opening web pages

i just opened up my laptop an checked. There is one additional SODIMM slot, but no 2.5 inch drive slot.

Is it.still worth only upgrading Ram?

Is your laptop often using nearly 100% of your RAM? If so, an upgrade makes sense. I have 4 GB too and do not need more RAM.
