Nvidia Founders Edition

DatNapk1n47
Go to solution Solved by Princess Luna,

The only difference is that it comes from a different manufacturer, the actual nVidia Founders Edition was manufactured entirely under the supervision of nVidia, meanwhile say EVGA Founders Edition only has the chip coming from nVidia, everything else from PCB, Memory, Cooler all was manufactured under EVGA's supervision.

I would personally take the EVGA one because yes it is an awesome company in quality and warranty/costumers service.

Whet is the difference between Nvidia's Founders Edition and an aftermarket FE (for example the EVGA Nvidia Geforce GTX 1080 Ti)

FE vs AIB

Factory overclock.

Possibility of a better PCB (emphasis on better).

Different shroud and fan configurations.

FE vs FE

Nothing.

Founder's is now what was "Stock Cooler" before then.

Nvidia calls it "Founder's", higher price, and voila: Super profit.

it's a cheap DHE (direct Heat Exhaust) Cooler, with a small Cooler inside.

High temperatures, high Noise.

So much, that even a 180w GTX 1080 is NOT properly cooled. The Card runs so @ stock so hot (83°C+), that the Core clock has to Throttle down, to keep the Temperatures in check. Not to mention GTX 1080 ti / Titan Xp, they throttle even harder.

Maybe even the GTX 1070 Founders will throttle alittle...

There is literaly no Reason at ALL to buy a Founders, especially if Aftermarket Custom Coolers are cheaper, AND better in every single aspect.

Do NOT buy a 1080 ti Founders. Seriously. No matter, what you do, and what setup you want. No. Founder's. it's a bad cooler. Any similar priced Aftermarket cooler will have at least 200-250 Mhz higher clock speed just out of the box (because it doesn't throttle), maybe even +300 Mhz. And while beeing faster due to that, they are even a lot more quiet.
