Xbox 360 Kinect fan stuff

Right, I need some info on this little guy. Summer is fast approaching, and since my room will happily climb towards the 31C mark, I need to know just how this little bugger triggers to turn on. I know the Kinect can get pretty warm just sitting there at the dashboard, and I'm a little paranoid that if I use it during the summer, the fan won't engage and I'll have one toasty-ass Kinect on my hands.

 

Normally I'd just say screw it and open it up, grab an adapter for the little fan's header, and then run it straight off USB, but I don't have Torx security bits to actually open the Kinect far enough to get to the fan.

 

TL;DR: How the hell does the fan in the 360's Kinect know when to turn on in hotass weather?

probably a temp sensor like every other electronic device that requires a fan.

I meant a temp sensor, but in hind sight that's honestly more of a PITA than it's worse

it's probably built into the SOC .
