I will be using a 100hz ultrawide and also 4k 144 hz(upcoming by asus and acer) monitors. I will buy the latest graphics card which will be in the market at that time. My question is should I buy a single custom high end graphic card or should i buy 2 of those. Will the difference be a large and how will i be able to keep both gpu cool without custom water cooling

To do 144 hz at 4k you're gonna need at least 1080 ti sli so probably you should go for SLI.

Custom water cooling is up to you, if you're willing to do it then sure though it won't improve performance, just looks and temps.

Buy whatever product is best for you, not what product is "best" for the market.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.

If you have the money for two go for it.

the difference (when supported) will be noticeable. however please keep in mind that not all applications or games support SLI or Crossfire (whichever way you intend to swing) so that extra GPU will be a dead fish.

Doom 2016 doesn't even support SLI, which is baffling, but there it is.

144Hz 4K? Is that really necessary in any video game..?

That said, if you can play the game at low graphics settings then a single 1080 Ti is probably fine, but if you must play games at a higher preset then you're gonna want two, assuming the games you play support it.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.
