Is it okay to use Cloud 2 USB adapter

Hey Guys! Sometimes, wearing my HyperX Cloud II's make my head hurt a bit, so i like to switch to the my Apple Earpods, but because i need the Microphone to work aswell. I have to plug it into the USB adapter i got with my HyperX Cloud 2. I was just wondering, is it okay to do so, even though the adapter is meant for Cloud II and not for apple Earpods? someone told me it could damage something, and i sure wouldn't want to do that :-).
