Intel 5930K worth it?

An Intel 5930K Haswell-E is currently $499 Australian dollars. Which is the equivalent to $375 US Dollars. Is it worth it? I'm new to the forums, and hopefully I've written this in the correct area. I'm not to familiar with the Haswell-E chips. But this chip should be able to game and be able to do 3D editing with a breeze? Also what is your opinion on the price? Compared to what I have seen, this seems like quite a good deal. But is it worth it. Should I just go with Broadwell-E or even Ryzen. Any help would be appreciated. P.S don't take the piss out of me.

You could get an 8 core r7 for ~$450, or same 6 core R5 for $320, poor value here.

You can get a Ryzen 7 1700 for that price, which is much better.

Not that it is a bad chip but since ryzen 7 is out you're probably better off with it.

If you were considering the 5930k, how much can you get the 5820k for? It's the same processor with less PCIe lanes. There's a very small chance that you'll use the extra PCIe lanes when boards themselves provide auxiliary lanes for things like m.2 ssd's and such.

 

If you can get the 5820k a good deal cheaper I would get that, but best performance for the money right now is ryzen.

@TidaLWaveZ 5820K is $449 AU. equivalent to $335 US.
