Modern Gaming?

Hello,

recently i ran across a i5-3330s thinking it was 7th gen and bought it... i did no research at the time. But now i found out its 3rd gen  

I was promised online with my current setup i'd be getting 50-60fps high settings 1080p gta v but bearly hitting 25fps

I currently have a:

Cpu: AMD A8-7650k Radeon R7, 10 compute cores 4c +6G base clocked at 3.30ghz

 

Ram: 8 GB of ddr3 (i think) 

 

Gpu: Nvidia Geforce Gtx 1050ti Sc 4gb gddr5

 

Ssd: None

 

Motherboard: forgot (cant be botered looking)

Really regret buying it now, they had it advertised as a 7th gen in the shop  oh well

This, basically. Hell, there's little reason for people to update from 2nd gen.

I cant return it i payed £137, mabey if i say it keep bsod my pc

@OP, you do realize you need an entirely new motherboard? Which can be hard to come by since it's an older generation. Also, the number in front of an Intel CPU sku indicates what generation it is. Therefore a CPU that starts with 3 is 3rd generation. I honestly don't know how you could've missed this if you have at least some experience with computers. Unless you can return the CPU, good luck finding a board for it. Check your local listings for lga 1150 boards.

yeah the board might be the hard part, but will be a huge upgrade. but yeah can't really go in there with a BSOD story if you don't even have a motherboard..

If they advertised it as 7th gen then you could see if you could make them refund it as it is clearly not 7th gen and they misinformed you about the product.

No its a AMD chip

No it's an AMD CPU, it's completely different from an Intel CPU. An i5 is an Intel CPU
