Hi All,

As you can probably see by the title, I am looking to upgrade some parts of my computer (https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/vNM9pb). My main questions is if there is any cheap upgrades that I can do (300-400GBP) to the computer to improve is performance within games?

I am happy to provide any more info if you need any

thanks to all in advance

A GTX 1070 fits the budget and should provide a significant improvement in most games.

Pull the 2x4GB DDR3-1333 memory. It is causing the DDR3-1600 memory to run slower and the added 8GB is not likely making a difference in gaming.

Are you overclocking the cpu?

I need the RAM to a large number of mods in cities skylines. I am not overclocking the CPU at the moment.

Overclock the cpu.

Will the mods not load with 16GB of memory? Windows does have virtual memory. Using the ssd for swap, there should not be a noticeable penalty. Although I'm not familiar with the mods cited.

no. super not worth it. like SUPER NOT.

do as @nerdslayer1 said and get an I7 4790K and 1080 or 1080TI

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)
