Hey guys I have an acer aspire v15 v5 591g 58z3 and the HDD is very slow. so I wanted to upgrade to an SSD, but than i saw some similar models witch has an M.2 slot, so I was wondering if I had one? I tried to find it on google and youtube but is couldn't find the exact model. If someone knows please let me know Smiley Happy

If you can afford the m.2 it would be better, some of the corsair ones have gigabyte read/writes im pretty sure.

But a normal ssd is fine, the only problem is that you might lose your hdd space when going with the ssd.

Best case scenario is to use m.2 with your current hdd

ok, thanks guys I think I know enough. :)

If m.2 is nvme, go for it. If it's just sata3 in m.2 form factor, it will perform the same as 2.5 inch ssd, because sata3.. That's all there is to it.

My laptop has m.2 interface, but it doesn't support nvme.. So there's that..

If you're only using it for os and apps m.2 isn't worth it as it doesn't have a noticeably better boot time or app launch time than a sata ssd.

Interested in computer architecture? Still in middle or high school? P.M. me!

I love computer hardware and feel free to ask me anything about that (or phones). I especially like SSDs. But please do not ask me anything about Networking, programming, command line stuff, or any relatively hard software stuff. I know next to nothing about that.
