Im concerned about my gpu!

IFPMaximus34

I have a gigabyte 1060windforce 6gb and decided to change from gigabyte xtreme software to msi afterburner and in msi i set max temp allowed 78 and defaul fan curve no overclock stock settings then played doom while playing ,fps started to drop and sutter till it drop to 40fps then heard a smell from case ,quited doom and in msi showed temp around 99C and fan speed was all time 0% i turned fan speed to max manually till it cooled below 50C uninstalled msi tool reinstall old one and so far everythink seems fine no throttling, gpu boost work same temp max go 75C no lag no crash no artifacts been like 14hours since it happened playing dota 2 fine for like 6 hours should i be worried it will die from time to time or just pretend nothing happended ???What should i do when i cant find nothing wrong in screen?Smell is fadding slowly but get noticed a bit under strees test did my card just survied its own death!?

You hear sounds, you don't hear a smell.

I'd take it out and take a look. Something had to make that smell, I wouldn't think everything is okay right after that.

Your GPU is fine, there's no way of knowing if the lifetime is reduced due to it overheating so don't worry about it.

If it dies in 5 years then you replace it. No big deal.
