Cloning HDD Questions

So here is the deal, I recently bought a notebook with a 1TB HDD, I am planning on upgrading to SSD when money allows me to but meanwhile I would like to clone this HDD because I already have customized the Windows 10 into Windows 9,5 installed programs has personal files and everything on it to another 2,5 HDD of 300gb I have lying around, the reason why is because I am fairly sure I won't break the 240gb line on this notebook (so I can later have a 240gb SSD as boot on it later on) and I want this 1TB extra space on my main rig so I don't have to uninstall my stupidly heavy games :/

 

So I would like to learn how to make that full copy... the 300gb HDD already is clean and I can use my main rig to do the cloning process, I just wanna know if it will function fine and what program to use how to do it etc... I know I'll have to have both HDDs connected on my main rig... I just haven't done this procedure yet, if LTT has a video on it could someone link me?

Well like I said despite I have the goal to use SSD at the end of the road it will be another month before the paycheck to make it possible xD

 

Right now I simply want to clone the current 1TB HDD into a blank 320GB HDD so I can use the 1TB one at the desktop.

Crucial SSD's actually come with a full version of Acronis.

 

Otherwise I heard Clonezilla (which is totally free, it's open source) works fairly well.

Mentioning that Acronis thing was just a response to M.Yurizaki saying Samsung SSD's come with clone software..

But I have spoken to a couple IT people who said they used Clonezilla and were quite content with it. I have never used it, so can't really comment on it personally.
