I'm stuck between these two cards mainly because the 780 has custom cooling, but the 780ti performs better. I could go either way, but I am having a hard time convincing myself on what to do. In my current rig I have a 4770k oc 4.4, 16gb ram, ssd + hdd and the other usual stuff. The monitor I have is an ASUS VG248QE. I just can't figure out what to do. One part of me says go all out and the other thinks that the 780ti is just overkill. What do you guys think? Like how much longer would the 780 last before it would start to feel slow? Should I just get the TI now and know I'll be safe for a while and if i choose the ti, should I wait for a custom cooling solution? I'd really appreciate some input on what to do. Also, with the pc all I will do is game, stream videos, covert videos, and do all of my regular web-browsing.

780Ti will have custom cooling. Just wait, GALAXY announced the development of the HOF edition of the 780Ti, other companies should be following soon.

I'd wait for one of the board partners to make a custom one.

The 780 Ti isn't that good of a value.

non-reference 780ti for sure. Linus always says it's better to get a less expensive higher tier card than a more expensive lower tier card (Reference 780>DCUII 770) so if you can hold off for non-reference, then do so. If not then just go with reference.
