Why not? I mean 7700k performs better than 6700k but the extra money for 7700k is more when compared to performance difference. 40$ more for a 7700k over 6700k and also minimum 30$ more for a Z270 over Z170 so 7700k is not worth buying only if buying 7700k over 6700k results in buying a bit weaker GPU.

If you delid, I think its worth it, but if you don't delid, don't bother with the kabylake series
