evo or pro

Go to solution Solved by ARikozuM,

Not really. Unless you're looking for longevity (warranty), you should stick with the EVO.

i was looking at a 1tb 850 evo but whats the benefit of the pro vs the evo.

ie is it the £90 worth it

The Pro model use MLC flash over the TLC of the Evo series, it mainly helps with wear if you do very heavy writes to the drive but for general users in most cases the EVO series will never be exceeded.

I have a 500GB 850 EVO and a 500GB 960 EVO (M.2), personally the difference between EVO and Pro IMO don't warrant the 90 euro difference for a minimal performance bump.

For m.2 it's totally different, it's

960PRO > 950PRO > 960EVO

950pro can be found cheap and is just behind the 960 so yeet

idk
