This used to be the case and I would still never buy one. Back in the days they were absolutely terrible. It's generally believed that they're actually good now, and reviews back that up.

Then you don't know me.

Mine is fine. The only thing ASRock motherboards are terrible at is overclocking. But that is about it.

I have an ASRock board, and it's not horrible... (It's hard to over clock on at least for this 6300, but It's not a bad board.)

I personally LOVE my ASRock board, only thing I don't like is that it doesn't adjust the CPU fan according to it's temperature. But for less than $50 USD new, it seems to be a steal.

My dad used to have an old ASRock board in our "kitchen computer," and the thing was incredible. Some kind of Athlon 64 (I think it was a 3-something or a 6-something plus), 2GB or DDR2 RAM, and the integrated graphics would play GTA: Vice city at 1440x900 topped out with no problem whatsoever. But if I remember correctly, we had a power surge and it popped. :( Stupid surges from the power going out or something along those lines.

Hmm. I personally really like Asrock's fan tuning.
