This build is a gaming PC for my friend. He already has a strix 1070 (long story don't ask). He has 600 for the PC including windows license. I put an i5 6600k in there just cause I don't want there to be any bottlenecking with the 1070 but maybe there is a better processor since I don't think he will really need to do any overclocking. I;m pretty sure the the 500W power supply would be enough for an i5 and a 1070 but I'm not 100% sure. For the windows license, I heard that you can go and get it on a flash drive from Best Buy for 80$ which is cheaper than the 120 I paid for my windows key. Is that true? Any other suggestions for the build would be great. Thanks

Cool, so which one would be the best value for gaming? 1400 or 1600? I don't think he will need any overclocking.

RYZEN is an OC'ing platform.  Give it a light OC

Sounds good. Last thing, are you sure a 430W power supply will be enough for that and a 1070? Should I get a 500W just to be safe in case he wants to upgrade? Also does the ryzen come with a good enough cooler or should I get another one of them?

Oh crap lol, forgot about the 1070.  Definitely get a better PSU in the 500W range.

Here ya go.

RYZEN coolers are pretty decent, if you feel the need to upgrade get one of these

Just for future reference do ryzen CPUs have to have a special cooler or are CPU coolers not specific to the processor?

They aren't specific to coolers, they just need mounting hardware.  These are all updated and pretty soon all coolers will work

The Ryzen stock cooler is pretty good from what I've seen.  I haven't heard one myself yet, but as long as it doesn't have that annoying ringing noise the 70mm fans for the FX-8XXX coolers had (poor quality PWM controllers), the performance and noise level should be perfectly acceptable.
