This is going to be the first build I've done and am looking for some feedback to make sure everything is compatible. I was aiming to get a nice gaming rig that could run games like Arma 3 or Planetside 2 with a far render distance while still getting decent graphics. I'm planning on ordering either the 1400 or 1500x depending on performance.

Any suggestions would be appreciated

I'm planning on getting another 8gb of ram at a later date.

the z170 motherboard isnt compatible with the 7th gen cpus unless it has an updated bios so you are better off getting a z270 motherboard. also that ram is a bit overkill.

The HDD he had selected was a 2 tb enterprise edition internal HDD. Dunno where you've been looking, but the HDD you selected SEEMS to be worse. (considering warranty) Not enterprise edition, and only half the size.

Don't get RAZER bruh.  The keyboards use knock off keys and the mice break down very quickly

Want to custom loop?  Ask me more if you are curious

What are you rambling about? Wrong topic? Topic starter is looking for Ryzen, and selected the following motherboard: Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming ATX AM4 Motherboard

Maybe not hyjack a topic? Maybe comment that stuff in that person his own topics? And considering he hasn't got an own topic, send him a PM? Or maybe suggest he should start his own topic?

it was one quick comment. didn't think i would get flamed over it lol. whatever the case is lets agree to stay on topic and not argue over how i derailed the thread.

I'm planning on getting another 8gb of ram at a later date.

Made some changes, changed the PSU from 430W to 500W, the SSD from 120GB to 240GB, the GTX 10603GB to RX 480 4GB(I recommend 8GB) and finally get the windows 10 from kinguin, you can get a windows 10 pro key for $32. It's overall $30 cheaper so you can use the extra on going up to either 8GB 480 or Ryzen 5 1600 which would give you 6 core/12 threads as opposed to 4 core/8 threads.

Geez, saved me $50 on the os. The 8gb gpu would only be needed for better texture quality, right?

And if you plan to keep your PC for a few years, some new triple A games are already pushing 4GB video cards to it's limits so going 8GB is good for the long run.

It's always about futureproofing lol

Actually, if your budget allows, go with this motherboard instead,

I have been looking at the Tomahawk since it is the the mobo amd is sending out with the ryzen 5 review kits, but are there any obvious advantages that it has over the gigabyte? I noticed that the gigabyte has more usb 3.0 and 2 more sata ports while still being cheaper

The Tomahawk has better reviews, MSI has better quality control imo compared to gigabyte and I think the MSI bios is better. The MSI also has a Type C port, where as the Gigabyte only has Type A.
