I bought a custom pre - built in 2014 (specs on my profile) but now I have decided that I want to take the leap and build my own PC.

I would prefer an ITX build as I don't want to struggle to move around a huge tower, plus I get more desk room.

As for the case, I was looking at the Corsair 250D but the lack of hot swappable drive bays got me worried, I don't want to tear down the entire system to disconnect a drive if I ever need to (e.g. doing a fresh Windows install). I would like a case that every is easy to access, maybe the NZXT Manta?

What I would want it for:

Streaming (YouTube Live)

Video rendering (1080p, 60fps)

1080p, high fps gaming

General everyday use (web browsing etc...)

Budget: Anything under $4000

I'm gonna add one more drive since I forgot the video rendering part.

Thank you, looks good.

Do I need any extra case fans or will the stock ones be okay?

I have also removed the 6TB HDD as I don't do rendering 24/7, just a bit here and there, 2 - 3 videos a month at most. I also usually save the finished product to 2 of my external HDDs.

And should I render videos to the HDD or SSD? Isn't it unhealthy to write to a SSD regularly?

Try not to write to the SSD, it is unhealthy and wears out. And for the case fans I would 2 of them with corsair air performance 2 pack fans.

 A few things..

 - The Corsair 250D is big in person, a buddy has one.

- Hotswap bays and itx cases aren't really a thing as useful as that is.

- Nzxt Manta completely defeats the purpose of going itx.

As for case option, I use a Fractal Core 500 myself. Gives room for full sized tower coolers and atx psu while being considerably smaller than these giant "itx" cases.

This, except:

1700, since it's cheaper and overclocks just as well.

Get 2x16gb RAM instead, as Ryzen overclocks better with it and better upgradability.

Why two hard drives?

Probably should consider 960 evo.

Might want to consider 1080 ti, especially considering the budget.

2. You just said he had a budget of $4000 and under, lol again

3. When you render the disk space helps, you know that, but if he doesnt do as much then the 3tb seems fine.

4. It's just rendering...

5. Havent seen a aftermarket cooler so till them ill stick to the 1080

Not sure how I feel about NVME drives, a friend has one and his was a hassle to set up and doesn't seem to make a huge difference to a SATA SSD.

1. Still saves money.

2. Still saves money, again. And it gives better overclocking on memory, as I said.

3. Why not just one larger disk?

4. Saving files and writing them to the disk is faster.

5. Then wait for aftermarket cooler xD

Shouldn't be too much of a hassle, unless you're using an older motherboard. If you won't be doing that much rendering though, the difference won't be too much. The difference between something like a 500gb sata ssd and a 500gb 960 evo is around $50-$100. Up to you if you want it or not.

You might need cablemods slim cables for the cables to fit. You can go with 6950x if you want by spending 500$ more.

Considering you'd be paying $700 extra for 5-10% extra performance I'd think the going micro atx would be the better option...

Exactly. But some people love to beg for mITX

Nothing wrong with writing to ssd. It's a little old now, but http://techreport.com/review/27909/the-ssd-endurance-experiment-theyre-all-dead and all the reports that preceed it in the series pretty much explode the myth that ssd wear out rapidly.

From the workload described, you might want to consider going with an i7-7700K. Excellent gaming and will certainly handle the streaming and light editing load described.

The case in this build is very accessible. Thumb screws secure both side panels. The right side panel gives access to storage.
