Should I get a reference style cooler for my pc setup?

Hi! so one of my current PCs has a rather small microATX case with horrible airflow but I dont want to ditch the case, so would getting a video card with a blower/reference style cooler benefit me? Right now I have an Asus GTX 770 with the 3rd party DirectCU II cooler and when I play games like battlefield 4 or run minecraft with shaders, the GPU temps are around 80-83c, which is around reference temps but the other components in the case are getting quite toasty along with the card since the card exhausts the air back into the case which only has one 92mm exhaust fan.. Plus when the side panel is closed, I think the card is recycling the hot air that is stuck in the case. 

 

My question is that would it make more sense for me to trade my Asus GTX 770 card for a reference style GTX 770 to reduce down temps and stress on other components.

I thought you were going to post a picture, but I'd say go with a 770 reference or upgrade if viable to a GTX 970 or RX 470.

i did just now. my post glitched and duplicated. 1 had a pic and one didn't. try refreshing the page and check now

Yea... With 2" of space that card might not have the flow to overcome the heat it's pushing away.

would a reference card make a difference though? Also would it be louder? I dont want my PC to sound like a turbojet..

If you're going with a 10-series, noise wouldn't be an issue. They're fairly quiet even under load once you configure the fan profile. As for past gens, they can get loud if you're looking for the card to be cold, which anything 70-80 is acceptable (to me).

i think I may be stuck with the aftermarket cooler..  oh well. ima try and sell this video card and get something like a 1050ti or something that isnt power hungry and runs cooler

Just make sure that it has the new blower design.
