how to change to ssd

i have a 500gb HDD atm and i was looking to buy a 500gb m.2 ssd how do i clone the drive as i want to get rid of the hdd 

note software must be free 

international racing driver

My Build

i5-7600k

hyper x fury 16gb (2133)mhz

asus strix 1070 

CM 212x

asus z270-p

corsair 550w psu

 

agon 1440p 144hz tn monitor

corsair strafe mx silent KB

corsair void rbg (wired)

razer mamba te with firefly mouse pat

ps4 controller using ds4 windows

this dosnt help in anyway shape or form... i know i can have a m.2 i wanted to know how to clone the hdd to the ssd as i dont have another pc i can use

Confirm motherboard supports it as said above.

 

Then back up your important data somewhere external.

 

Finally do a clean (clean not clone because moving HDD to SSD is different to SSD to SSD) install on the new SSD then have the HDD as secondary storage.
