Ok, heard Plastidip multiple times and can't find out what it is. Is it something you buy at the local wal mart or is it something you need to order online?

I don't think it would cause any immediate problems. But still I wouldn't do it, sleeving/extensions are the way I'd go.

It'd probably chip off after a while. Especially since cables are bendable.

You should just sleeve them.

You could paint them, but I would advise against that. Also just remember that paint hardens (depending on the type of paint, number of coats, etc.) so your cables will probably be quite stiff. Add in the factor of heat radiating from your components... They will not budge.

Plasti dip is a kind of paint that requires no surface prep apart froma  quick wipe down and can be peeled off when the paint starts to deteriorate. Very handy for case modding as it needs no surface prep and can be peeled off if you make an error. Or even cut then sections be peeled off if you wish :)

Can be used on stuff other than cars.

Cool. Where do you buy it from? Only online?

Mostly. You could always call around to auto parts places and see if they have it.

I could. But it's 40$.

thats not that much money when you take out 10 dollars for the paint. painting will look like crap most likely. colored cables are a premium and it costs 40 dollars aparently

Plastidip is sprayable plastic. Easy to apply and it won't jack up your computer parts because its nonconductive. The sell it at home depot

as the name suggests its a paint with a plastic/rubber like finish and can be peeled off (though i wouldnt be power supply wires it would be exceptionally tedious. Its flexible so would tolerate bending well. I think its a very viable option for you. you can get it from eBay...

Get extensions. If you sleeve or paint you will lose your warranty.

Pretty sure you don't lose your warranty for sleeving, as from what I've heard, they don't expect you to unplug and send all the cables with the unit (that is with a fully modular PSU). Sleeving is not expensive if you use paracord, and it can look great. Look on ebay, amazon or any outdoor shops for 4mm paracord, and you can do it heatshrinkless for everything but the SATA power (and SATA data if you need to sleeve them).

Paracord is like 6 bucks for 100ft and that is all you will need, as well as maybe some cheap 4mm heatshrink and you'll be fine if you use your own tools. I have a bit of a guide here but not sure if it will help that much, otherwise, go here.
