Gigabyte G1 Gaming 980 Ti Disassembly

Jz1

So one of the fans has died and I need to replace it but I'm not sure if I purchase the 2 or 3 pin size Windforce fan on the Gigabyte 980 Ti G1 Gaming edition.

How would I go about removing the fan shroud so I can access all the connectors because the cable is tucked inside it and I can't do it without removing it.

PS: Just the fan shroud I want to take off not the entire thing

Sadly from what I remember about changing the thermal paste on my 980 Ti, the whole cooler has to come off before you can take the fan assembly off. Some of the screws holding the fan shroud face the back (PCIe slot) of the card (they're screwed into the heatsink). I might be remembering wrong though.

this gpu is like the easiest cooler to remove  i have seen.

take the back plate off first.

which will show more screws to remove the cooler.

(just look for screws and  take them off)

download the EK watercooling manuals if you need help.
