-5 pin RGB header on an AB350 GAMING 3 Motherboard

-5 pin male to female connector/extension

-RGB Strip 4pin female either end (Phanteks P400)

I tried pushing the 4 pin into the connector and I think the pins started crunching and it felt loose so I pulled it out I'm not too sure what to do. Do I need an adaptor cause I can't seem to find one

W are for strips with RGBW so the white you get is pure white.

I'd imagine that it would just work but I'm not 100% sure.

That is an RGBW header and cable the LED's use , you need as others have said an adapter between those.

Yeah you might need an adapter, look online and you'll probably find one? Mind if I ask what you are trying to connect the LED strip too?

The cable has a 4 pin female and I'm trying to connect it to a 5 pin header on the board. There doesn't seem to be a 4 pin male to 5 pin female adapter though. The other 4 pin RGB header is used on the wraith cooler.

You leave the W portion of the RGBW header underpopulated since they are only RGB LED's, using that 4 pin adapter.
