Need Help With SLI

Interesting, the adapter stopped working lol.

Maybe the adaptor was on the way out. There should be no reason for a particular monitor to not work with SLI, so I can only think the adaptor was causing issues.

Yeah... don't select that option if you want to use more than one monitor...

Have you set up the displays through Windows display settings?

You can also check to see if things are wrong in the "Set up multiple displays" section of Nvidia control panel.

EDIT: Also what do you mean by only one monitor activating? Does one of the monitors just turn off/no signal?

Does it matter that I'm using a Display port to hdmi adapter for one of the monitor?

If the adaptor works normally, it shouldn't matter when using multiple monitors.

So when you change to maximise 3D performance, one of the monitors loses signal?

What does the multiple display section of Nvidia control panel look like? You may need to activate the other monitor there.

It looks like the monitors should be working fine from that screenshot. Check in Windows display settings as well to see if it's been dropped.

Clearly it is not if you read what the post says.

I feel like this shouldn't be this hard to set up

Everything you've posted looks like it should be working fine. Do the monitors have multiple inputs? If so, try cycling between the inputs to see if it picks the signal up again.

If not, if may well be an issue with the adaptor or the monitor itself. You could try switching the cables so the one that is currently running off HDMI is running off the DP adaptor.

I have a setup with the same output mode over 4 monitors and it all works fine for me.

Yeah I switched the cables, but the S24 monitor just won't work when i have SLI enabled, still only one monitor. I guess it's a monitor's problem. Thanks anyway :)

Have you tried switching over to another Displayport output? It shouldn't make a difference, but you never know.

That setting is fine to use with multiple monitors.  There's something else wrong, and it has nothing to do with that setting in the control panel.  Nothin...nada.

Again, try reading the topic, which is about his "multitple monitors not working with that setting enabled"

In which case not changing that setting makes them work properly.

The only way to not use that setting is to either disable SLI or enable surround, which doesn't work with 2 monitors. The setting is basically "enable SLI, but not surround"

While disabling SLI may fix the issue, it's not exactly a solution to the issue, or at least not the one OP is looking for. The setting (again, basically enable SLI) should work fine with multiple monitors, so there is an issue somewhere else, which is what we were trying to resolve.

You really can't be this dense....look.  There are two ways to enable SLI.  The way he was trying, and to use surround.  The monitors were working without SLI enabled.  As soon as he enabled SLI, one of the monitors stopped working.  Which has nothing to do with the setting, and apparently, according to his post, has to do with one of his adapters.

I'm going to say this once more, so that even you can understand.  There is absolutely nothing wrong with using that setting for multiple monitors.  FFS, man.  You're wrong....and now you're just making yourself look stupid.

They are. The first screenshot shows how the cards are connected in the Nvidia control panel (HDMI for C24 and DP for S24)

Might need one plugged into other card

I ran into this issue many times on accessory displays But i am running 5 monitors on 2 970s but 3xsurround and 2 accessory
