How can I turn a server on over LAN and then start remote managing the server over LAN again (not needing to actually touch the server)

Some routers support WOL packet sending. If you have it flashed with DD-WRT or Tomato, you can definitely send WOL packets.

I haven't got either of them I only have a home hub 5, (it works perfectly fine for me)

Apparently that supports sending WOL packets as far as I could tell. Log in to it and poke around.
