Number 1: You probably want a graphics card

Number 2: You probably don't want a z170 motherboard with a locked CPU, what CPU cooler do you have? If it's beefy go with the i7-7700k if you want to overclock, and then again i'd suggest a z270 motherboard to minimise BIOS issues. If not, then i'd go with a B250 or H270 motherboard.

Also, what case do you have?

you wont get much from overclocking a locked chip tbh, SkyeOC isnt just something that magically unlocks your CPU, its just BCLK overclocking that isnt shit. either get the K SKU or get a B250 board. im not even sure if that motherboard has a BIOS that supports both Kabylake AND SkyeOC even. you will also want a better cooler for that chip if you are overclocking.

also get a nice GPU and a 1TB-3TB HDD for bulk storage

I spent $2500 on building my PC and all i do with it is play no games atm & watch anime at 1080p(finally) watch YT and write essays...  nothing, it just sits there collecting dust...

Builds:

The Toaster Project! Northern Bee!

The original LAN PC build log! (Old, dead and replaced by The Toaster Project & 5.0)

Spoiler

As I said before I dont need HDD I dont hold movies or smth got my 1TB for 2 years now never get further than 400gb used in the worst case.

Hmm just looked for more info, I was tellign you about another way to OC but still I can see that i7 7700 4.0 vs i7 7700k 5.0GHz got only like few fps difference in major of the games, maybe you're right and I will jsut buy cheaper B250 with i7 7700 any suggestion ofB250 MOBO ?

motherboards are basically the least sensetive part, just pick the cheapest one that has the I/O and internal ports you need. optionaly it can look good but looks dont give you more preformance :P also if you already have a 1TB HDD why not just throw that in the final build aswell for some extra storage? if you decide to either do what you have planned here(not sure if the BIOS will alow for bother Kabylake and the overclocking feature) or get the K SKU of the I7 7700 you want a better cooler then a PureRock seeing as it wont be enough to keep the chip cool.

So any suggestion about B250 MOBO for i7 7700 ?

i would go with a brand that you like and pick one with the features you want. i generally prefer asus or msi motherboards but that is personal preference so you should make your decision based on your personal preference.

Because you can fit a micro ATX Motherboard in a mid tower and a micro ATX case where as a full ATX Motherboard would be limited to a mid tower or bigger. I know alot of people who like having a small formfactor pc so might as well choose a motherboard that could accomplish that of you decide to go with small formfactor
