Also voltage spikes from that would be insane. When you chop the throttle, a massive amount of voltage will go back into all the electronics and cause a freak out.

We had yet another battery incident. When I was flying I cut my flight short because idk but I’m so glad I did. When I landed my battery was linsanely hot and the plastic coating was melting off and the battery was getting bigger and bigger. I was flying my whoop upstairs so I was a long way away from the door and I was about to be holding a fireball. I remembered someone saying salt water discharges batteries so I very quickly dumped the battery in the sink and turned the water on. Ran to the cupboard got alt and made that sink saltier than the Dead Sea. I mean now I have a dead battery but it’s better than a dead house. So ya. Idk what happened but dang.

Gah damn :o my guess is you grabbed a pack that wasn't all the way charged and flew it too long. Or it was a shitty cell that decided to vent. 

 

In other news, one of my quads has a dead receiver, the other a dying camera that blacks out all the time.

I don't really know any 4" frames. I think armattan has a 4" japalura? 4" never really seemed to catch on, especially in my fpv community.

fair enough, I was expecting them to become more popular with the weight laws in the US but also the face you get 3" and 4" drones now that are stupid fast and keep up with the big boys no problem.

The weight laws are in Canada, and I think those got phased out. 

 

I was talking to a guy on fpv chat today who has a 4" with 3000kv 1407 motors. Damn thing is quick.

Like the idea of a 4" with 4S 1300mah but as I just dropped like $850 on car parts the plan is on hold and i'll be keeping the tyrant airborne, well if it decideds to stop chucking motors.

I think a 1300 is a little too much weight for 4". Maybe not, but I think most people fly 4" on 1000mah packs.

aaahhhhhh see thats the Difference, I traded the GF in for the Focus ST.. Sent her back to south Africa and suddenly had so much spare money in my account.

5051 is a prop size... also online I’ve seen so many different designs and makes of 5051 props, so they aren’t clones of anything or everything is a clone of everything.

Me and a friend tried modding his e010 tiny whoop style quad and it died after a couple of flights. I want to build us matching tiny whoops to fly around with and wondered if you guys had any part suggestions? Or whether I should just buy 2 of the like e010s or something like that. Idk. I like my 2s tiny whoop but it kinda has too much power to fly indoors and I mainly  use it to prank friends that think it’s going to be slow and then beat them in a “race” with it. Lol anyways thanks!

I think those eachine chinywhoops are great, only problem is those brushed motors tend to wear out super quick.

Flew a micro helicopter once with my ipod 5 years ago. I drive RC cars all time but those are pistol grip controllers but I will learn I guess.

Just a warning. You will get addicted very quickly. I started on Rc cars as well and once I flew my first quad there was no turning back.
